A magical place alongside the Morete River. We are nestled between the tall mountains and the sea and surrounded by a jungle that is a protected wildlife corridor with hiking trails. We are not close to nature, we are nature! It is infused into our Eco Lodge. Nature can be enjoyed throughout the property with lush tropical landscaping and nature trails! Lull yourself to sleep with the tranquil sound of the river. Awake to the symphony of exotic birds that frequent our property!

We live on the property in the main lodge. We are available to ensure your stay is exactly how you want it to be.

Our preferred method of communication is through WA. We have a business account for Casitas Del Rio. With WA you can text or call us with no international fees. In fact over our wifi on the property you can call or text anywhere in the world for free.

Neighborhood

Uvita, Costa Rica we are centrally located on the Pacific Coast so you can easily do day trips North to Manual Antonio or south to the Osa Penisula. Uvita is home to Ballena Bahia or Whales Tail Bay, the most popular beach and national park. The whales spend a longer time here than any other area in the world!

The quaint beach town of Uvita and the lovely beaches of Playa Ballena, Playa Colonia, and Playa Hermosa are a 5 minute drive from your Casita. Dominical(North) or Ojochal(South) is only 15 minutes away.

5 different waterfalls within 30 minutes, many different beaches, mangrove tours, canopy and zip lining, horseback riding, butterfly garden, and this is the beginning of the rainforest so lush tropical plants and exotic animals not found in other parts of Costa Rica. All villas have Air Conditioning, covered deck, pool, kitchen, and Sloth and Tortuga have private jacuzzis.

Our location allows quick and easy access to beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and many adventures. The small town of Uvita and the lovely beaches of Playa Ballena, Playa Colonia, and Playa Hermosa are a 5-minute drive from your Casita. Dominical or Ojochal are only 15-minutes away

Surrounded by a protected wildlife corridor and at the end of a private road. You will be infused with nature with the magical combination of the river and jungle attracting tons of Costa Rica's unique wildlife!

Each villa perfectly accommodates 2 people and is thoughtfully furnished with queen sized bed, a locally made dining table for 2, a bathroom with a granite sink, a powerful large shower, and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is complete with all the necessary utensils you require to cook your perfect meal. It includes dishes, a 2 burner stove-top, a separate grill, a fridge, a microwave oven, a toaster, and a coffeemaker. Stock up on groceries in Uvita or contact us to have groceries waiting for you in the villa!

Outside your villa, you will enjoy the lush tropical plants and trees that surround Casita Del Rio and provide you with a true jungle feel. There is private secure parking next to your accommodation. The porch is covered and has the added benefit of a ceiling fan with a view of the river and jungle. Hear the Congo monkeys howl, watch the toucans fly from tree to tree, and dip your toes in the cascading ripples of the river right in front of your porch. We take bookings for individuals, families, or groups. You could even rent all 3 Villas for a private family or friends getaway, or an intimate wedding ceremony.

Our area offers stunning mountain and coastal scenery. The massive national park includes 4 beaches, the largest coral reef in the country, and of course the massive migration of whales. They stay longer here than any other place in the world. Paddleboarding, adventure tours, hiking, kayaking, zip-lining, whale & dolphin tours, bird-watching, horseback riding, hidden waterfalls & swimming holes, deserted beaches, surfing, ATV tours, and more! We are 5 minutes from a small town with restaurants, banks, and grocery stores, yet you feel far away from it all in our private river sanctuary surrounded by primary forest.

Discounts for weekly stays! You can also rent a car in Uvita for day trips. We are 1hr from Manuel Antonio or Drake Bay / Corcovado Park.

Transit

The local town of Uvita has a bus system that is clean, safe, and affordable. You can easily take day trips to Manual Antonio National Park, Sierpe, Jaco, or all the way to San Jose with no problem.

You can also rent a car in Uvita if you want to explore the neighboring areas. Uvita is very centrally located so with a rental car you can do day trips to Manual Antonio, Ojochal, Domincal, Perez Zeldon, San Isidro, or even Sierpe or Corcovado National Park.

In Uvita, you can also rent bicycles or scooters to enjoy exploring the town and beaches.

House Rules

No parties or events are allowed.

No smoking is allowed inside the villas or around the pool. You can smoke outside the main gate.

No pets allowed.

No unregistered guests are allowed.

All opened food items must be in sealed containers, ziplock bags, or in the refrigerator. We are in the jungle and so ants and exotic insects will be attracted. Seal everything in ziplock bags or use the containers we have provided. Food scraps should not be left in your villa. Empty them into the outside trash receptacle provided outside your villa. This is to prevent the ants from coming inside your villa and is very important.

Pool is closed after 10:00pm

No Glass Containers of any kind can be used near the swimming pool.

Please turn off the AC when you go out. You can also simply adjust it to the warmest setting.

Please take extra care of your keys. Lost keys incur a replacement fee.

Please take care of the furnishings. You have to pay for damages

Please don’t rearrange the furniture.

Please do your dishes.

Please take the trash out before you leave. Place it in the trash can by the black bamboo.

Cancellation Policy

Full refund for cancellations done within 24hours of booking. Full refund for cancellations a minimum of 3 weeks prior to your arrival. No cancellations allowed for cancellations within the 3 week window as we have held the space and turned away other paying guests.
