Neighborhood

Uvita, Costa Rica we are centrally located on the Pacific Coast so you can easily do day trips North to Manual Antonio or south to the Osa Penisula. Uvita is home to Ballena Bahia or Whales Tail Bay, the most popular beach and national park. The whales spend a longer time here than any other area in the world!

The quaint beach town of Uvita and the lovely beaches of Playa Ballena, Playa Colonia, and Playa Hermosa are a 5 minute drive from your Casita. Dominical, the popular surf town with its funky bohemian beach bar vibe, is a 12 minute drive north.

We offer 2 villas(Toucan & Macaw), 1 x deluxe villa(La Rana), & 2 premium villas(Tortuga & Sloth) with private jacuzzis. Our location allows quick and easy access to several beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and many adventures. The small town of Uvita and the lovely beaches of Playa Ballena, Playa Colonia, and Playa Hermosa are a 5-minute drive from your villa. Dominical, the popular surf town with its funky bohemian beach bar vibe, is a 12-minute drive north.

Surrounded by a protected wildlife corridor and nature park and at the end of a private road. Explore the hiking trails, take a birdwatching tour, guided hike with naturalists, horseback riding, or mountain bike rentals and trails. You will be infused with nature with the magical combination of the river and jungle attracting tons of Costa Rica's amazing wildlife!

Each villa perfectly accommodates 2 people and is thoughtfully furnished with queen sized bed, a locally made dining table for 2, a bathroom with a granite sink, a powerful large shower, & Wi-Fi. The kitchen is complete with all the necessary utensils you require to cook your perfect meal and includes, dishes, an induction cooktop, full sized fridge, microwave oven, a toaster, and a coffeemaker. After stocking up on a few groceries in nearby Uvita, you'll have everything you require to prepare your gourmet meals.

Outside your villa, you will enjoy the lush tropical plants and trees that surround Casita Del Rio and provide you with a true jungle feel. There is private secure parking next to your accommodation. The porch is covered with a view of the river and jungle. Hear the Congo monkeys howl, watch the toucans fly from tree to tree, and dip your toes in the cascading ripples of the river right in front of your porch. We have a 50ft pool for you to relax in, or take a leisurely stroll upriver to discover a hidden waterfall and more natural swimming holes.

We take bookings for individuals, families, or groups. You could even rent all 3 Casitas for a private family or friend getaway, or an intimate wedding ceremony.

Our area offers stunning mountain and coastal scenery. The massive national park includes 4 beaches, the largest coral reef in the country, and of course the massive migration of whales. They stay longer here than in any other place in the world. Paddleboarding, adventure tours, hiking, kayaking, zip-lining, whale & dolphin tours, bird-watching, horseback riding, hidden waterfalls & swimming holes, deserted beaches, surfing, ATV tours, and more! We are 5 minutes away from a small town with restaurants, banks, and grocery stores, yet you feel far away from it all in our private river sanctuary surrounded by primary forest.

We can arrange an airport transfer or assist you to rent a car at the airport or in Uvita. We are 1hr from Manuel Antonio.

House Rules

No parties or events are allowed.

No smoking is allowed inside the villas or around the pool. You can smoke outside the main gate.

No pets allowed.

No unregistered guests are allowed.

All opened food items must be in sealed containers, ziplock bags, or in the refrigerator. We are in the jungle and so ants and exotic insects will be attracted. Seal everything in ziplock bags or use the containers we have provided.
Food scraps should not be left in your villa. Empty them into the outside trash receptacle provided outside your villa. This is to prevent the ants from coming inside your villa and is very important.

Pool is closed after 10:00pm

No Glass Containers of any kind can be used near the swimming pool.

Please turn off the AC when you go out. You can also simply adjust it to the warmest setting.

Please take extra care of your keys. Lost keys incur a replacement fee.

Please take care of the furnishings. You have to pay for damages

Please don’t rearrange the furniture.

Please do your dishes.

Please take the trash out before you leave.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 30 days prior to your arrival will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 7-30 days prior to your arrival will receive a 50% refund. No refunds within the 6 days before your arrival as we have blocked the dates and turned away other paying guests.
